How to enter the hut in the zone the first day? How to survive in prison. First Day in the Zone What Not to Do as a Newbie in Prison

They brought you to jail. From several hours to several days you can be kept in quarantine. If during this time you are not provided with cigarettes and tea, then you are very unlucky: the prison you ended up in is a regime prison (“red”). In any case, do not waste time on anecdotes and dreams of release, but ask the inhabitants of the quarantine about this prison and life in prison in general. Keep in mind that not everyone will tell you the truth, no matter how convincing their words may sound.

Quarantine is a kind of prison station, here, literally and figuratively, they sit on trunks. The real first day begins with the transfer to the cell. Entering the door open in front of you, loudly say in a friendly tone, “Hey, guys!”. The mattress that you have under your armpit can be thrown on the floor, but not near the bucket. Do not stretch your hand for a handshake - you still do not know to whom you should not extend it. Don't try to be tough and tough - your inexperience is much more noticeable than you think. Say that you are in prison for the first time, ask who you should talk to in order to find out the rules of conduct in the cell (hut). You will be directed to a supervisor or another experienced person. The beholder usually sleeps on the bottom bunk near the window (tails), other respected people in the hut are somewhere near the beholder.

In a conversation with a serious person, especially do not lie and do not show off. Do not think that naive questions will put you in a bad light. On the contrary, the more questions you ask, the more you show your interest in prison life and win over. Be interested even in things that you know for sure. If in response to your questions they tell you something that is not true, you can turn to a more authoritative person (looking after the building or prison). The one who lied (especially under the guise of authority) should be punished to the fullest extent of the prison law.

You will also be asked questions about your life. If you did not serve in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and did not excel in bed, answer completely sincerely. Service in the army is not welcome, but is not currently considered a "jamb". You know about oral sex from a prostitute who pleasured you for money, or you don't know at all. No one can reproach you for your views on politics, art and any other issues that do not concern prison life. The prison tradition includes internationalism, if you are asked what “national” means in the name of the party, explain that you understand the nation as a spiritual community of the inhabitants of the country. The idea of racial harassment in prison and, by the way, in the NBP is unacceptable.

Say that in the wild you almost did not communicate with people who were imprisoned, you don’t know how to behave correctly, but now, once in prison, strive to follow the prisoner’s law in everything. If you were imprisoned for participating in a political action, to a question like “Who are you in life?” answer "Political". If there was no politics in your actions, say that in a few hours (days) spent in prison you did not have time to resolve this issue for yourself, but you will try to be a worthy person in all respects.

Don't bother answering questions that don't concern you personally. In this case, you can say “I don’t know,” and if the question concerns a person you know, say that you are responsible for yourself and the question should be asked to your friend himself. You can answer a question that is uncomfortable for you with a joke - wit is valued in prison.
Do not think that they are talking to you to kill time. " cold war"between the prisoners and the cops is constantly going on, from time to time turning into an open conflict, so the wrong opinion about you, made in the process of communication, can cause serious harm to the entire cell. Any word spoken in prison is equated with an act and has nothing to do with chatter in a friendly circle outside.

The most general rules, which are good to know in advance, are simple. Watch your personal hygiene, do not relieve yourself when they eat or drink tea at the table, give thanks for any little thing your cellmate does for you. Any reasonable request can be made without hesitation, the word "please" in prison is not necessary, it is usually replaced by the expression "if possible." Politeness and kindness towards fellow inmates is highly valued. You can use "you" to people much older and more authoritative than you, in prison diminutive forms of names and nicknames are also used.

Refuse to play cards and other games of "interest", even if in the wild everyone considered you a virtuoso player. You have no chance of not losing, except for the first games, when they will give you a chance to win on purpose. Cheating during the game is allowed by the prison law, you can cancel the result of a dishonest game only by showing the cheater the trick he used, and for this you need to know cheating tricks better than your opponent in the game.

Do not take more cameras from the common fund than you can deposit there. Do not call on a mobile phone unless absolutely necessary - you will have to pay not only for your call, but also to deposit money for the general one. Do not under any circumstances try the drugs offered to you. Alcohol in prison is expensive and does not make it possible to relax. (Relaxing, by the way, is generally very dangerous there, although excessive tension is ineffective and exhausting.) Do not borrow anything - it is fraught with consequences and contradicts the prisoner's law, according to which the only allowable debt is debt by game. Do not promise to contribute specific things and amounts to the common fund, but from what you have available, give according to your conscience. In general, do not promise anything other than 100% feasible.

Learn to understand people. Talk to your cellmates as much as possible, even on topics that you are not interested in. In prison, they don't listen as much as they watch; notice the smallest movements of people. There is no better way to form an unbiased opinion of a person. Under the guise of a decent prisoner, a snitch and a bastard can be hiding, such people even look behind small cameras. In this case, think about how to get rid of the cop ears next to you, they won’t let you leave the hut just like that, in addition, this is not allowed by the prison law without an iron justification.

I will finish with a small lyrical digression. As my personal experience and the experience of people I know well have shown, the first year a person lives in prison with memories of freedom and hope for a speedy release. Those under investigation are especially dreamy, all as one hoping to be released from the courtroom. The second year passes in a close study of prison camp life, while its negative aspects are striking. In the third year, the understanding comes that you are not “sitting” at all, but you continue your life, although here it is associated with a lot of inconveniences and restrictions.

Remember that "deprivation of liberty" is no more than two words from a court verdict. A person is born free, and if there are no bars and iron doors in the mind, no court will deprive you of what you really have. "The spirit breathes where it wants to."

Right hut

In the cells of youngsters and first-timers there is a rather aggressive audience, familiar with the prison law only by hearsay. And not every recidivist knows this law to the end. Pioneers usually understand prison law as the power of the physically stronger over the weak. And they begin to play prison, thinking that they are fulfilling its law, and not knowing that they are violating this law and someday they will pay dearly for it. How do they play? They bully newbies. Registration is most often arranged in such cells.

If they don’t get up with special cruelties during registration, then it looks more like a game. It is distributed mainly in the “youngsters”, and in the “adult” (that is, in the cells for adults), the same young people usually prescribe their own peers. At the same time, there are some restrictions: you can’t register “microns” - those who are under 16 years old - and prisoners aged from thirty, those who were badly hurt, who came to the cell badly beaten, too. As, of course, those who have not the first walker.

And how are they prescribed?
- Make riddles different to guess. Dive from a plank bed, beat your head against a wall with a running start, and so on - all this is called "jokes". There are several hundred such jokes, you can't remember them all, and every generation of prisoners adds something of their own to the well-known ... They throw, for example, a broom at you: "Play the balalaika." You have to throw it back: "Tune the strings." Lead to the battery: "Play the harmonica." You answer: "Spread the furs." They arrange a "wedding": "What will you drink: wine, vodka, champagne?" Answer: Wine. Pour you a mug of water - drink. They ask the same thing again. You answer: "Vodka". Again pour a full mug - drink. And so they will pour, and you will drink until you say to the toastmaster: "The same as you." And other nonsense. It's not so much your ingenuity being tested, but your knowledge. You know jokes - yours. But this, of course, is trifles. They can even arrange a more serious test: they will blindfold them, put them on the upper bunk, tie them to it by the scrotum: "Jump." If you don't jump, if you're afraid, you'll sign your own sentence. If you jump, it turns out that it’s okay, they tied you with a thread, which immediately broke off, although you didn’t see it, but from fear you thought it was with a rope. Or: "What do you want to become - a pilot or a tanker? - A pilot. - Jump upside down." You jump and get caught. They should at least get caught, because if you crash, those responsible will be held accountable for it. Or, in the camp jargon, they will be presented with it.

The registration has another meaning. The first acquaintance with the prison can simply kill any pioneer, drive him crazy - it's so hard. In the first hours of captivity, a person is in shock. And registration distracts him from this state, makes him actively involved in a new life. Well, the camera will better know what kind of person you are: rotten - not rotten, weak in spirit - strong (“spiritual”), cheerful - gloomy, selfish or ready to suffer when necessary, for society, etc. But in general, registration with the correct concepts is not approved, because the game there very often turns into a mockery. The “lowered” (we will talk about them later) most often end up in a pre-trial detention center, and not in zones.

Now, in general, registration for beginners is less likely to be satisfied than before. Especially in a normal cell.
- What is a "normal camera"?
- The one in which reigns not the power of the fist, but the prison law. This law is very harsh, but it is fair. In the part that concerns the meeting of new prisoners, he says: prison is your home. A man has come - first of all say hello to him. Do not bother him with questions: why did he sit down, how was it? The lads - that is, the inhabitants of the cell - must tell the new person about everything, show everything, and only after that ask for violations of the prison law, if he allows such violations. A person who has just come from freedom, according to the prison law (which is also called "correct concepts", "correct life"), is pure. In the wild, he could be anyone and do anything, but here he begins a new life. He is a baby, and there is no demand from him. This is the "number one" rule - you can not ask a person for breaking a norm that he does not know about. And my advice to you: if you get there, start a new life immediately. Consider that if you are destined to ever go free, then this will be a gift of fate. But your main life will now take place in prison. And how it goes on depends 90% on your first steps.

And what are the other orders in a normal cell?
- In prison, prisoners often do not say “camera” among themselves, but “hut”. Neighbors in the walking yard will knock on the wall: “Hey, guys, what kind of hut? That is, even this wretched living space is perceived as a house, settled down. Even if you sit alone, in a few days you have already settled it, you know where everything is, and the whole space seems to be spiritualized. From an interrogation or from a call, you enter the cell, and a feeling of a native corner appears.
So in a prison, a normal hut will sound like this: the right hut. And the rules in the right hut are basically the same as those of the right people in the wild. I came from a long distance, that is, from the toilet - wash your hands. You sit down at the table - take off your mold (jacket). When someone is eating, you can not use the bucket. When everyone listens to music or some kind of program - too. You can’t whistle - you’ll whistle the deadline. You can’t take dirty linen out of the hut, that is, without special need to tell other cameras about what is happening in your hut.

You don't owe anything to anyone. Nothing can be taken away from you - especially this concerns rations "from the owner". And even asking you for something is considered dishonorable.
Another point is cleaning the camera. In a prison of the same order as in the army - the greenhorns scrub the floor, but the grandfathers are bastard - no. Everyone should take turns cleaning the cell, absolutely everyone. I was told by a former cellmate of the famous thief Vasya Brilliant that he cleaned the camera, washed the bucket on an equal basis with everyone else. And when someone asked him a question about this, he explained that according to the prison law, it is considered shameful to do something for another, to serve another, and the person himself must clean up after himself. “Now, if I could fly,” said Vasya Brilliant, “then it would be a different matter. And since I walk on the floor, why don’t I sweep it?” No one has the right to force you to clean your cell out of turn as a punishment either.

If, nevertheless, you end up in the wrong cell, where they won’t explain anything to you, and you see a person who lies under the bunks or by the bucket, with whom no one talks, do not approach him. In general, at first look closely at what is happening around. Look closely, shut up, do the same as everyone else. And just like everyone else. Even if it seems crazy or funny to you.

As for disputed issues, they must be resolved peacefully. There should be no fights, insults among the lads - this is also required by the correct concepts. In extreme cases, to resolve controversial issues, there is access to other cameras. Ask them what is allowed and what is not.

How do we ask them?
- In prisons, people show fantastic ingenuity. To get a fire by friction or from a light bulb, to saw through a grate with a shoe, to boil a chifir in a newspaper, to throw a note on a neighboring street - they know how to do all this there. Everything will be made out of nothing, if there is time. There is communication between cells in any prison, but it is not organized everywhere in the same way. The simplest thing, when the inspector has moved away from the door, is simply to shout through the bars (“from tails”): such and such a hut ... True, in a pre-trial detention center, inter-chamber communication is one of the most serious violations of the regime of detention ...

You can do it this way: you pump out the water in the toilet with a broom or a rag: a sewer pipe is like a telephone. Through it, with a certain skill, you can transfer anything you like: tea, cigarettes, notes. You can take a mug, attach it to the heating pipe and shout everything you need into it - in other cells through the same mug they will hear and take note, or they will pass it on. You can launch a "horse": you make a fishing rod out of a newspaper tube and thread, tie a note with an address to it and put it behind bars - they will catch you lower. You can just chime in. Thirty letters of the Russian alphabet are taken, without soft and hard signs and "e". You place them vertically in a "cage" - five cells high, six cells wide. The letters in this cell are numbered: from 1 to 5 down and from 1 to 6 to the right. In this alphabet, "a" will be transmitted as follows: one hit - pause - one hit; "k" - two strokes - pause - five strokes, etc. If you and your interlocutor know Morse code - no problem at all. describe everything possible ways meaningless.
That's how you ask authoritative people who is right and who is wrong.

Tell me, what if I pass myself off as "authority"? Now you will tell me everything in detail, I will remember it well, and I will learn how to use the “hair dryer” ...
- It's better not to try, it's the same as learning to "Stirlitz". Maybe not immediately, but such an attempt will certainly end badly. Prison sharpens intuition, people there always feel when you're lying - this is the first thing. Secondly, it is easy to pretend in the wild, because there you pretend for an hour, two, well, a day. And in prison you are in sight around the clock. The most brilliant actor cannot live on stage all the time. He needs rest, otherwise he will make mistake after mistake. Thirdly, it is not enough to know Fenya to find a common language with experienced prisoners. Here, after all, gestures, and hints, and certain habits, and demeanor are important. And what they showed in "Gentlemen of Fortune" is, of course, fantasy even at its core. The double of a thief cannot pass himself off as him if he himself has not been imprisoned. The very first prisoner with camp experience will split him.

Rather, on the contrary, it would be better if the convicts were played in the cinema by the convicts themselves. One of our best film directors, Alexei German, understands this. In his film “Check on the Roads”, prisoners of war were played by real convicts. And the protection of prisoners of war was also played by professionals - our own, native jailers. By the way, the convicts filmed there voluntarily, with the blessing of the camp authorities.

By the way, about "Gentlemen". Is it true that the tattoo is a prisoner's passport? Are they being forced?
- Until recently, it was. According to the number of domes of the church, gouged out on the chest, one can count the number of "walkers" (it used to be the number of years spent in prison). If a cat in boots is depicted, then the owner of the tattoo is a pickpocket, if a circle with a dot inside on the forearm or above the upper lip is lowered, etc. And for tattoos that did not correspond to reality, they were punished. And they forcibly branded the same lowered ones. But all this before. Now tattoo professionals do not do at all - why do they need additional special signs? And roosters are also not stigmatized - they can be seen from a mile away. So a tattoo is usually a voluntary matter. Unlike our passport system.

Comments and "experienced"

A person who has just come from freedom, according to the prison law (which is also called "correct concepts", "correct life"), is pure. In the wild, he could be anyone and do anything, but here he begins a new life. He is a baby, and there is no demand from him. This is the "number one" rule - you can not ask a person for breaking a norm that he does not know about.
And my advice to you: if you get there, start a new life immediately. Consider that if you are destined to ever go free, then this will be a gift of fate. But your main life will now take place in prison. And how it goes on depends 90% on your first steps.

A person who has committed “dishonest” acts in the wild will have an attitude in prison corresponding to his actions. So, "start a new life" in the full sense of the word will not work. For every act there will be a "demand", even if the person did not know that it was a "jamb". For example, rape, seeking help from the police, etc.

When someone is eating, you can not use the bucket. When everyone listens to music or some kind of program - too.

It all depends on the size of the chamber and the contingent in it. In the "tee" this rule really exists, but in the "hut" for 90 people it is not necessary. And about music and TV - nonsense.

There is nothing "dishonest" about asking. In theory, they should provide what they need. If you forgot about something, then you can apply for it. The most important rule to know is DO NOT INTERFERE ANYONE LIVE AND DO NOT HARM.

pioneers

Getting into captivity, you need to immediately learn one thing - there are no bosses among the prisoners. As you put yourself, so you will live. Another postulate is that in closed communities (group kindergarten, school class, comrades in the yard, work collective, cellmates or neighbors in the barracks) there is no equality. Where more than two gather, a division into suits or castes immediately occurs.

Order first!

Before going to prison, I was a completely non-criminal person. It so happened that he didn’t even have any acquaintances with a criminal record. He went in for sports, worked in a fairly prestigious position at that time. And then one day, having rudely received a debt from a bastard, he ended up in a pre-trial detention center.

In those days, everything was both simpler and more difficult. This is me to the fact that for the first time those arrested were not imprisoned with recidivists. In captivity, we ourselves established our own rules.
As I remember now, they brought us to "Kresty" on Friday afternoon, threw us into the basement "dog lover" - this is such a cell, quarantine. Until Monday, no movement was expected - we were told so by the SIZO officer. He also explained that today we are not on allowances. In the penal colony (at that time there was no temporary detention center) they were fed once a day. I really wanted to eat, especially since we were all young and strong guys. Bandit from Kazan and I immediately became friends. Five unsportsmanlike guys were afraid of us, although we did not touch anyone and did not run into anyone. Of course, it turned out that the guys all in a crowd climbed onto the upper deck. Kazansky and I settled down below. We talked for three hours, got bored. Politely asked the "nerds" to tell us a joke. They were talking nonsense for a long time. We laughed not from subtle humor, but from their attempts. Then we just as politely, without raids, asked the young people to show us the theater. Two young men crawled out to the door under the lamp and portrayed all sorts of animals at our request: eagles, snakes, skunks, nits. Notice that we did not touch anyone with a finger, but immediately took a dominant position, and the weak in spirit willingly obeyed.

On Monday, we were pulled for a medical examination and fingerprinting. It was noticeable that our neighbors noticeably slow down. They looked around and could not, without hesitation, name their data and articles. The staff did not see them as native prison dwellers and treated them rudely. The Kazansky and I, on the contrary, immediately began to joke with the guards, and the circus, looking at us, made fun.

It was a pity to part with the Kazan brother, but after the issuance of bed linen, we were assigned to different cells.
To be honest, I was a little nervous. I remembered films with tattooed harsh men. But then the door opened, and I entered a small semi-dark room. On both sides there are three-tier bunks for six beds and for fifteen prisoners. All of them didn't look scary at all. On the contrary, they are pale to blue from lack of sun and thin from poor nutrition. The oldest is twenty-five years old.

I said hello, sat down on the lower tier, threw the mattress at the entrance. Traditional questions rained down: under what article am I sitting, where did I come from, how is it in the wild? In general, we got to know each other.

All had no previous convictions. They sat, in general, for nonsense - drunken murders and unsuccessful robberies. They tried to tell me that the new one, before the arrival of another newcomer, washes dishes and floors for everyone. I proposed another rule for the "old men" to do this, as if they had already mastered all the tricks of the garbage craft.

Tall Kolya was the boldest of all. He spent a long time under investigation and visited more than one cell. Concepts, even human, the guys did not comply. Everyone did what they wanted. For example, everyone is sleeping, and two are talking loudly at this time. Or they eat someone else's transmission if its owner is mentally and physically weak.
Three days later, Kolya was transferred to another "hut". By that time, I had settled down enough, and even showed the people part of my fighting arsenal. It all happened by chance. We talked about the sharpness of the blow. I asked him to hold a piece of newspaper by the upper corners and, having warmed up a little, punched through the middle with my fist. The leaf did not move, but was slightly torn at the point of impact. For an experienced boxer, this is not difficult. Naturally, no one in the cell repeated this.

To be honest, in those days I didn’t know anything about criminal concepts, but I accidentally installed them. Although what is random here - the rules of good manners are the same everywhere. He suggested that the neighbors behave decently, do not yell, do not interfere with the others, share the programs equally, and clean up every day. Everyone agreed. Only one Georgian did not like it. Rather, I did not like the fact that he would not be the main one. I had to give him a little on the tripe so that he would not speak.

Walk, brother!

We began to live like white people. Someone was dragged to court or transferred to another cell. We also got newbies. And it doesn't matter - they came from outside or had already managed to sit in a pre-trial detention center, everyone was a little afraid. Only a few hid it behind arrogance and behaved strangely. Up to the point that they pretended to be creepy, overworked authorities.

It was only then that I realized why the freshly sat down get tattoos and adopt the customs of the prison. This is just mimicry so that they are taken for one of their own, not humiliated and beaten.
Take at least such a case. The cell is quiet, someone is sleeping, someone is reading. Suddenly the door opens and something enters us. It is not visible behind the mattress, but it barks loudly: “Hello to the brothers, worthy of respect! Fuck, I'll be, in kind, yeah.

The mattress falls to the floor, those who have woken up and put down their books are looking at the new inhabitant of the “hut”. Big bald head covered in fresh cuts from the blade. Cool, but he's wearing a T-shirt. All arms, shoulders and neck are in tattoos - scary stitches, applied with a blunt needle.
We are very interested in this phenomenon. The “passenger”, twitching all over and conducting with his hands like a paraplegic sign language interpreter, continued the concert. Alternately winking at us with both eyes, encouragingly patting each on the shoulder, he yelled: “Cho, in nature, they are so sad - in prison everything is ours - it's a black move! Walk, brother!
No one answered his tirade. The newcomer hesitated a little, ran along the central aisle (five steps in both directions) and provocatively suggested: “Well, cho, tramps, chifir in the prisoner’s way.” I realized that you can have fun, made a naive face and explained: “We, dear man, are pioneers. We can't cheat. There is tea (forbidden at that time and bought from a balander for a good jacket), you make yourself, and we, monkeys, will see.

There were no outlets in the cell at that time. The passenger resolutely tore off a piece of the blanket, smeared the aluminum mug with soap (so that the soot would not stick), hung it over the toilet and set fire to the "torch". Boiled water, poured generous amounts of tea, steamed. Sitting, choking in one sting. It is evident that he is not used to a thick drink. He grimaces, makes him very sick, but he is fastened - after all, all recidivists drink chifir.

I asked him: “Tell us, oh wisest, why do they sip chifir? Have we heard that he comes from him? The chifirist bent over and croaked (they call this sound laughter): “In kind, land, who brought you such a mess? Just chifirok drives blood, invigorates. I don’t drink it - I feel like a fool. ” “It looks like you haven’t drunk in a long time,” I remarked. “Maybe you just need to do push-ups from the floor to drive blood?”

The newcomer did not understand the hint and began to tell us about prison customs, the prison brotherhood, general movement. He carried nonsense with the most intelligent look. It turned out that he had been sitting for only two months. But before us, he ended up in a “hut”, where everyone plays prison. We even liked it. We constantly bothered him and asked him to tell us how to go to the toilet or go to the door, how to address the employee and each other.

A wise neighbor condescendingly enlightened us, inexperienced. A few days later the circus got tired, and we kicked him out without lawlessness. They played cards for a wish and he fulfilled it. A nice female sergeant opened the door and invited us for a walk. Our criminal guru yelled wildly: “Boss, open the door wider, your fingers won’t get through!” Then he tore his T-shirt, exposing the tattoos, spread his palms and with the song “How many I killed, how many I cut, how many souls I ruined” went to the door. An employee has never seen such fear. She forgot to slam the "gate" and rushed down the corridor for help. After a showdown with guards, the tattooed citizen was removed from us - he himself asked for it.

The next day, a small Azer was thrown in his place. The fact that he sat down for drugs was visible from afar. The newcomer was not afraid of anyone, because he did not think well. He asked from the door if we had pills. Doctors on the round gave analgin, citramone and other cheap medicines. We took them in reserve and accumulated a fair amount. Some "wheels" could not be identified due to lack of packaging.

Thinking that the man was not feeling well, we handed the first-aid kit to the newcomer. He rejoiced. He poured water into a mug and threw all the pills into himself to one! He even ran a wet finger along the bottom of the bag and rubbed the dust into his gums, as they do in the movies with cocaine. He didn't want to meet anyone. He spread the mattress right by the door (there were no free racks), covered himself with a blanket and began to drag himself - he made a blissful face, rolled his eyes and began to masturbate.

We were shocked by the public mastery of ourselves. But the new neighbor did not react to external stimuli in the form of shouts and kicks. We longingly remembered the tattooed "clown". There is nothing to do, the guards shouted and showed him the masturbator. The ensign understood everything and called the orderlies from the convicts. They took the diseased in an unknown direction. The operas did not like the fact that inmates were being “put on skis” from our cell. As an instigator, they removed me as a punishment. They even promised to throw it in the "press-hut". Preparing to sell my life and honor dearly, I followed the building up to the fourth floor.

It turned out that the "press" is different. In those days, there was an article providing for criminal punishment for violation of the passport regime. Citizens without a passport or residence permit were imprisoned. For the winter, the homeless themselves rushed to jail. It was to such, the most neglected homeless people, that they threw me.
I did not dare to go forward: the floor was ankle-deep with rubbish - scraps of newspapers, bread crumbs, and so on. A clogged and overflowing toilet bowl stank to the side. The outhouse stench was supplemented by the natives of the heating main. They lay on the floor and on the racks, all boiled, with swollen joints and covered with lice. I have never seen lice form complex patterns. No one greeted me - only a joyful exclamation was heard from the side.

A young, muscular guy in a white T-shirt was standing against the wall. He said that he had been here since yesterday, but he could not even sit down. The guy heard that it’s impossible to “break” out of the cell - this is a “jamb”. I was of a different opinion. The camera is different. I don't feel like sitting here.

I knocked on the door with my feet, called the duty officer, showed me the conditions of detention and said in confidence that if we were not urgently transferred with the beefy one, we would cripple several scourges. He pinned the operas, looked into the "hut", measured us with the athlete's eyes and commanded: "To the exit with things." In the corridor I took a deep breath for the first time in an hour.
About the dangers of developed muscles

With a new acquaintance, we were thrown into a cell where a “passenger” who had just arrived there was sitting. It's strange, but in the "Crosses" none of the prisoners are left alone, so as not to hang themselves.

I didn't like Passenger. The boy himself was from a small village, but he pretended to be a tough mafia and a connoisseur of prison. I politely asked him not to stink with his pipe and makhra. He was blown away and was smoking at the door in the crack. Soon another neighbor was transferred to us. As it turned out later, on the day he came of age, he was raised from the "youngsters" (they were also kept in the "Crosses" then). The kid from the corridor immediately appreciated me and the pumped-up athlete. He threw the mattress and the bag, pushed the guard away, and shouting "Kill!" started to run. Strange, we thought, and stared inquiringly at the door.

Everything was explained later. Before us, boundless bandits were sitting in this “hut”. They broke the people, which the opera used with might and main. A bad rumor went around the prison about this "hut". Here is the former "youngster" and mistook us for "press workers". The employees for a long time inspired him that good uncles were sitting in the cell. We have also confirmed this. The youth seemed to believe, but he was afraid of us for a long time. A little later, another one was thrown to us. He was just out. The guy was only eighteen. This "newcomer" stood at the door and looked with horror at me and the athlete. I had to make a proposal to constantly walk in long-sleeved shirts and not shine with muscles. The proposal for a veil over the muzzle did not pass.

The karate-pimp entered us calmly. He had been in the "Crosses" for a long time and knew all the local rules. The sailor also did not slow down, as did the "thrown" -Georgian. We began to live in peace, observing the rules of the socialist community and not interfering with each other.
Once I sleep quietly and peacefully, I even curtained the bed with sheets. The "youngster" suddenly slowed down - pulled out a carnation from the frame and began to drive it into the wall with an enameled mug. The athlete ran into him. Here the door opened. I leaned out from behind the curtain and lashed out at the assholes who made a fuss. A respectable man just entered us (as it turned out later, the leader of a well-known organized crime group with no previous convictions). As he later admitted, the opera department promised him a "press hut" in prison. When he saw me and the athlete, he thought that this is it, it has begun. For two nights he did not sleep, but only pretended to be asleep, fearing that we would attack him sleepily.

Each had their own urges. And this despite the fact that we met newcomers normally, even crazy ones.

Triple Killer

As soon as we settled down in the cell, the door opens again and another “passenger” loomed at the entrance. To say that we do not have sleeping places was useless. As an argument, employees usually told us about the “hut”, where on the same nine square meters eighteen snouts lived.

A very neglected middle-aged man was pushed towards us. We were the first to greet him, invited him to pass. He did not answer - he sat down on the bunk and told that his mother-in-law had recently come to him (according to the indictment, he drunkenly shot his mother-in-law, wife and neighbor with a hunting rifle). This mother-in-law of the deceased, like, told him about all of us. Then the killer told us what terms we would get. In general, each of us received at least fifteen years or the death penalty - execution.

We were not superstitious people, but he spoiled our mood. They gave him a sausage sandwich and put him to bed. Then it was not a vpadlu to sleep under the shkona - in summer it is generally the most trump card where it is not so hot. We also slacked off. Only the triple killer kept arguing with his mother-in-law in a whisper. Under his muttering, I dozed off, the neighbors too. The newcomer saw a hidden sharpening for cutting bread under the shkonka. Along the way, he completely quarreled with his wife's deceased mother and decided to get rid of her. The killer took a homemade knife and climbed to cut the leader of the organized crime group, mistaking him for his mother-in-law. It's good that I woke up and kicked the psycho with my foot. The leader of the organized crime group jumped up. Then the killer rushed at him again. Only against the master of sports in boxing in heavy weight there is little sharpening. We did not beat the idiot, but simply called the guard and asked him to put the patient in the hospital. Oper came, said that the "mokrushnik" mows down like a fool. to avoid the “tower”, and ordered him to be transferred to another cell.

A little later, the corps officer opened the "feeding trough" and told us that our "hunter" got into the "hut" where recidivists were sitting, and right from the threshold he began to beat them in the faces. At first, the authorities were taken aback - they thought that it was the special forces in civilian clothes or the government had changed and the thieves were being destroyed. Then they figured it out and beat the psycho themselves, so much so that they later put him in the hospital.

Gotta be yourself

Again they threw an azer to us, this time a healthy one. Seeing that we were peaceful people, he sat down and began to lie. For two hours he didn’t close his mouth at all, telling that he speaks all languages, knows all the rulers, earns billions, shoots accurately and is successful with stunning blondes (although, for me, he only impregnates monkeys, and then by force).

At first we were entertained by his chatter. After I politely asked him to be quiet or read the newspaper, but he continued to speak. Then I asked him to read the newspaper not aloud. The newcomer began to yell at me and insult me, for which he received in the face. I did not have time to add - the neighbors separated. The victim huddled under the shkonka and from there drilled me with a hating look. I calmly explained to him that if I told him, then no one would interfere. Or let him stop glaring, or we need to deal one on one.
He did not dare to fight and said that he was persecuted on a national basis. Our Georgian noticed that you just need to behave normally. A couple of days later I had a trial, and I was released.

This short landing taught me a lot. Suffice it to say that the next time I sat down in the provinces, I drove into the quarantine pre-trial detention center, returning from the court, “looking” for the prison. He didn’t even think of asking me to give him the corner (placed by a thieves in rank) rack, on which I was located. The “watcher” and I immediately saw each other as equals - people who know how to behave in captivity, although he had been in jail for twenty years, and at that time I had only a few months in a pre-trial detention center.
I already said at the beginning: as you put yourself, so you will live.

"Behind Bars" (#2 2011)

3 December 2016

So, you ended up in a temporary detention facility, as a convicted or arrested. Fifteen rules to help you avoid trouble in PPE. Recorded from the words of a man who visited "places not so remote." The rules are not spelled out in official documents, but are binding on everyone, regardless of crime and social status prior to arrest.
1. Entering the cell, usually this is a “quarantine”, where the suspect or convict must stay for at least fifteen days, the newcomer must say “common salam” or “salamaleikum”. Fifteen years ago, according to experienced walkers, they greeted each other in Russian, now they greet in this way. So you can say hello to inmates in any other cell.

2. After that, the “watcher of the hut” approaches the newcomer. This is a person who monitors the order and observance of the rules of the thieves' world in the cell. He shows the place on the “shkonka” (iron bunk bed) where the beginner will sleep. Usually all or almost all sleeping places in the cell are occupied. Some cells can sleep in two shifts.

3. A person is asked if he has ever been a witness, or a victim in criminal cases. If yes, then questions begin, because according to the laws of the underworld, this is considered "zapadlo" - a stain on the biography. Further, the convicted or arrested person himself must say under what article he was brought or convicted. If this is rape, or even worse, rape of minors, there will be certain questions for him. There is an opinion that suspects under these articles are raped in cells, but in fact I have not met juvenile rapists. Usually, suspects or those convicted under these articles said that they were not guilty, that they were framed, girls of easy virtue were used in order to force them to pay. It is difficult to prove otherwise, and since it is impossible to prove that a person is a rapist, until he confesses himself, then they do not touch him. Distrust in the judiciary and the police plays a role, people believe that someone could well be set up, fabricated a case, so they are in no hurry to draw conclusions.

4. After that, all the awake inmates of the “hut” gather, brew chefir or strong tea - krepak. Everyone sits down at a low table, which usually stands in the middle of the hut or by the window, and begins to talk slowly. Having found out that the newcomer is a normal person who has not compromised himself in any way before, they explain to him how to live and behave in prison.

5. In the corner near the door is a toilet, it is called "north" - usually it's just a hole in the floor, fenced off with makeshift curtains. The prisoner is told that it is not allowed to go there when others are eating. You can't talk while you're there.

6. You can’t shake hands with people you don’t know, as they may turn out to be “offended” (passive homosexuals) or “knitted” (prisoners collaborating with the administration of the institution) and “balanders” (convicted engaged in housekeeping). In addition, you can not shake hands with the "cops" - the police, but this is at the discretion of the convict himself.

7. People usually try to share the food given by relatives and friends in programs with everyone. Especially in quarantine, where everyone except the beholder is usually “first-timer” (convicted for the first time). What he considers necessary, the prisoner lays out on the common table, and invites everyone to the hut. It is not necessary to lay out all the products at once, you can divide the received transfers into several meals. Eating alone is considered bad manners and is condemned by other prisoners.

8. They usually take a shower once a week. It is not customary to take off your underwear, wash in it. Formally, they do this so that they do not touch the genitals of another person and prevent touching themselves.

9. You can't fight in prison, especially kicking someone. Only the “offended” are kicked, for every blow or insult inflicted in this world will have to be answered. The same goes for words, you can’t use obscene words in anyone’s address if you can’t justify it. For every recklessly spoken word, you will have to answer to the “skhodnyak” - a meeting of prisoners in a cell on a special occasion. In many films, they show how the arrested person fights with cellmates, in fact, this happens very rarely and is severely punished for this. According to the law of the underworld, if you were hit, you should not fight, you need to collect a gangway and analyze the behavior of a fighter on it. Most likely, his jaw will be broken or he will receive several hard blows to the face. This is called “approaching”, they say, “I approached such and such”, which means that I carried out the punishment.

10. You can’t trust anyone in prison, even when it seems that a friend is nearby, it may well turn out that a person is a snitch who works for the administration or “thieves” - representatives of the underworld. In any case, we must weigh every word and try not to talk idle. You can't promise and not deliver. If you promised someone to get a book or give a sausage, then be kind, do it. If you didn’t keep your word, it’s quite possible that you will be called to the gangway and demanded to answer why you broke your promise.

11. You can not take other people's things without asking, for example, a mug or a spoon, and even more so food or a cigarette. They may think that you stole and in this case declare you a rat or a mouse. There were cases when a person was caught stealing one cigarette, on the gangway he was declared a “rat” or “mouse” - stealing from his own people, after which he was severely beaten and transferred to another cell intended for rats or mice.

12. You can smoke in the pre-trial detention center everywhere, everyone smokes here without exception. Having received a block of cigarettes in the transfer, you can give one pack or all ten to the “general”. In case you think it necessary, you can not give anything. But if they ask for a cigarette, it is not customary to refuse.

13. They explain to the prisoner how to behave when taking tests. In the first days, he donates blood, urine, feces, undergoes an x-ray. A stool test stick is not usually used for its intended purpose. The zek smears it on the dirty floor or wall and gives it to the nurse. That is, the analysis is purely formal.

14. It is better not to get tattoos in prison, because you can get hepatitis or AIDS. If you already have a glamorous tattoo with unusual or playful content, you don't need to show it to anyone.

15. In general, the basic principle of behavior in prison is simple: respect someone else's territory, dignity, do not insult or humiliate another person, share what you can. Don't touch bad people. Prisoners like to say "do not believe, do not be afraid, do not ask." Many of them have these words tattooed on their bodies. In fact, the prisoners are asking, they are afraid and they believe. Therefore, quite often they find themselves in unpleasant situations.

Quarantine. Body check. And again about snitches

The first cell in which a person finds himself, once in a pre-trial detention center, is the so-called quarantine. It got its name from medical terminology and in this regard is intended for the prevention of infectious diseases - if suddenly there is some kind of infection from freedom, then it will manifest itself locally, among a limited number of people in the first week or two, without spreading throughout the prison.

So everyone is usually examined by a doctor (paramedic) on the first day - including all tattoos and special signs - scars, large birthmarks, deformities. If you were beaten, tortured, it's not bad to talk about it during this visit, show bruises, abrasions, complain about pain. They must and can record everything. This must be insisted on. The departments are already somewhat different. The penal colony belongs to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the pre-trial detention center - in Russia to the Ministry of Justice, in Ukraine - to a certain Department for the Execution of Punishments, which (the penal colony and the investigation on the one hand and the penitentiary system on the other) according to the EU recommendations and were divided precisely in order to create greater opportunities to respect human rights. So, unless there was a special instruction, all your complaints will indeed be recorded. You never know what you have there - maybe internal bleeding, and you glue the flippers the next day - who wants to answer. After all, you can’t prove anything, and the prison and its head will turn out to be the extreme, where the person was allegedly killed. Therefore, if something like this has taken place, this is the best time to declare it.

Of course, you can aggravate something (that is, increase complaints, simulate a little). Considering the thick skin of the local medical staff, your simulation will be compensated by their very thick skin and somewhere you will get to the real picture. Also, if you suddenly come to your senses later and decide in court to declare that the testimony has been knocked out of you, then without such an entry in your medical record, such a statement of yours will practically have no chance of success.

But if you really feel that something is wrong in the body - shout (do not speak, but shout) about it right away. Getting medical care in prison is quite problematic, and if the question is, say, about an operation and going to a city hospital, then this is generally an out of the ordinary event. If you have internal bleeding (rupture of the liver, spleen, hematoma, etc.), then there is no time to wait - so it is better to scare them. They are afraid of death in prison like the hell of incense - this is a statistic that affects the status of a country in the world, indicating the level of democracy and the state of human rights - shoulder straps can fly at the moment.

During my stay in quarantine, they do several medical tests - in Russia they did RW (syphilis), HIV infection, fluorography (tuberculosis). In Ukraine, HIV, as I heard, is not done. In the Kaliningrad prison, unlike many others, the issue of quarantine is taken seriously - at least 10 days and not earlier than the tests are ready. But there, however, in the city and, accordingly, in the prison, there are a lot of HIV-infected people - such a city-record holder, so the guys have to be on the alert.

On the first day, a bathhouse (a shower, of course - this is only called a bathhouse). They can even give a bar of soap - people usually don’t have anything of their own at this time, relatives have not yet had time to get well and pass everything they need). Then to be photographed in a private matter. Fingerprints all the way

3 December 2016

Quarantine also provides for the acquaintance of the administration with its new client. In quarantine, there is almost certainly a snitch to listen to what the newly minted prisoners are talking about. Most of them are still in a state of high arousal and agitation, for many this manifests itself in uncontrollable verbal diarrhea. Later, when a person gets used to it, comes to his senses, it will be much more difficult to promote him to the necessary information than now, in the early days.

Let me tell you a very telling story on this occasion.

Once, in the same Kaliningrad, a certain type was thrown into our cell after quarantine (as he said), who bent his fingers, spread everything according to concepts, talked about how he had a great time during the previous walker, how he was respected in the zone, like cops it was broken at the reception, etc. He did not stay with us for long, about a week, he did not take root well - no one got close to him at all, no one really listened to him, except that he was a youngster - he was an inferior talker. Then he disappeared.

What is remarkable about the Kaliningrad prison is that there, at any moment, almost any prisoner could contact any other, in any cell (except, perhaps, as in a punishment cell, although this was possible with slight restrictions). How this was done, I will describe in the section on methods of communication in prisons. Now it is important that, as a rule, if a person is transferred to another hut, he either immediately, or in the evening, when the connection is easier, informs about his new place of residence - in particular, so that the prisoner's mail can be redirected. This one has disappeared. To freedom, based on his fairy tales, it seems like they should not have been released. In the days when he was with us, he corresponded with someone, and later, when our hut was scattered and we collected all our belongings, we found a lost baby, which for some reason he did not open - you see, he received it, put it off for later and then lost. In general, you can’t open someone else’s mail - this is the most serious jamb that can happen, and the punishment for this is very cruel. Post is sacred. If a person is no longer in the hut, his mail is sent back, or, if he left prison at all (to freedom or to a stage), it is destroyed. But, in this case, there was no external sheet with addresses - he tore it off, and we didn’t know whose baby it was, that’s why we opened it.

In this very little thing addressed to him, someone wrote that he had recently entered quarantine, and before that he had celebrated a wedding for a week, sent greetings from some mutual acquaintances who wanted to know something from him, and even before that he remembered how they were also in quarantine together before, he clarified something. He wrote that he would soon be free again and would see these very common acquaintances again, asking what to say to them. That is, from this little fellow it became unequivocally clear that he periodically "sit" in jail for 10-14 days (for the period of quarantine), listened, talked, periodically they took him out like tests, take prints, take pictures. At this time, he leaked all the information obtained. Then, by the end of the quarantine period, he was taken away, as if he was transferred to a permanent hut, and he disappeared - he went on a short vacation for a period until the contingent was completely renewed in quarantine, i.e. for the next 14 days. Then back to work.

Definitely, it was not an opera that was sent to someone they were very interested in - operas would never have been written by such a kid. Yes, and in order to send the opera to prison - this matter must be at least of national importance. Here, probably, some fraerok, or rather a group of fraerkov, most likely hit something and she was offered an alternative - either back to the zone, or to work for the good of the motherland, which they did diligently.

We sent the baby to the beholder - prisoner solidarity after all. What happened next, I don't know. These are the "thieves". So once again, in this regard, I recall the principle by which such a chicken can be suspected - the more it wraps its fingers, the more dust it lets in, especially with inadequate appearance and behavior - the greater the likelihood.

And, by the way, after the departure of this type, I soon began to have scabies - no matter how I analyzed it, it turned out that I most likely picked it up from him. Cool, your mother...

3 December 2016

Since we again touched on the topic of informers, I note that several times there were situations when we knew almost one hundred percent who the chicken was. But they were in no hurry to do anything. What for? Punish the bastard? He has already been punished - imagine in what fear a person lives, fearing that at any moment he can be exposed. Yes, and it was not from a good life that he agreed to such a thing - maybe they didn’t beat him, but he suffered a lot of fear, that’s for sure (not everyone needs to be beaten, this is rather an exception - most just need to be scared well). And to find yourself, to break him from the hut, to show that you know who is knocking, means that soon a new one of the same cop will definitely appear, and who knows if you can at least suspect him next time. And so, when you know who, you feel calmer - all the same, the likelihood that there are more than one of them in the hut is not so great - recruiting such a "spy" is also not always easy, operas need to work hard. You can also use this situation to "accidentally" tell something that you want to reach the ears of godfathers (this is another name for operas), to lead them to the thought you need. So there is no need to rush.

Once, also, one of the prisoners, realizing (late) who his bread maker was (this is a person with whom they share a ration, they eat from the same dish - you can say a friend), was very indignant, and when he learned that many had known about this for a long time, he generally left myself. In response to his claims, I, as a senior at that time, explained to him that, firstly, it’s ugly to openly accuse a person of such a sin without being one hundred percent sure, but 99%, this is not 100 yet. not always so easy. And besides, you need to keep an eye on your market, who to tell what to and whom to choose as your friends. I won’t go up to everyone and whisper in your ear, especially since he was warned in a general and quite accessible way about a certain danger when he drove into the hut. In addition, to be honest, he (who was indignant) did not enjoy special respect in the hut - he was a quarrelsome type. If I were a normal kid, I would probably have been warned more specifically. And so it's my own fault...

  • How to survive in prison? What to do if you are detained or arrested? Questions are not idle. The situation with the detention of video blogger Ruslan Sokolovsky has clearly shown that in modern Russian realities anyone can end up behind bars - for a word carelessly spoken on the Internet, for a repost on social networks, for a stupid picture. But as a rule, people who post pictures and conduct video blogs are far from criminal life, so a sudden arrest and placement in a temporary detention center (hereinafter - in a pre-trial detention center and, if not at all lucky, a colony) can be a real shock for them. A person who finds himself in such a situation can easily do stupid things, turning his life into a real hell.

There are more and more egregious cases of “landings” in Russia. We decided to consult with people who have behind them a wealth of experience in places, as they say, "not so remote." These are Aleksey Kuznetsov (more than 10 years in the camps, runs his own channel about life in prison on YouTube, is engaged in human rights activities), Andrey Reut (served 17 years), Alena (she asked not to indicate her last name and term, she works in a law firm), as well as the well-known Ural human rights activist Alexei Sokolov. Here are their tips.

    Detention. shut up

Almost any landing begins with detention. This can happen on the street, at work, at a university, in public transport. May be detained after a search or interrogation. Detention is not yet an arrest. Sometimes detainees are released after giving evidence or establishing the necessary facts. But sometimes, at the moment of detention, a person says goodbye to freedom for a long time. It is important not to lose your temper here.

Reut: As a rule, if a person has never fallen into the hands of representatives of the authorities, after being detained, he experiences shock and fear. All illusions about law enforcement are crumbling. A person is faced with rudeness and cynicism, he understands that he is just a bug. The first thing he encounters is intimidation, sometimes beatings, and torture is not ruled out. After all, the "suspect" is already guilty - this is what investigators and operatives think. And it is very difficult to get an apology or an explanation later. It is advisable to have a lawyer in your acquaintances, or a lawyer familiar with criminal practice. If there are none, then it is better to be patient, not to slander yourself, since in the future ALL your words will be used against you. Regardless of the alibi, defense witnesses, or lack of evidence of your guilt. Declare that you will not testify without a lawyer (lawyer) chosen by your relatives or by yourself. Article 51 of the Constitution: a citizen has the right not to testify against himself. In general, it is better to overcome fear, confusion and pain, but not to slander yourself, any word can be distorted in the protocol of interrogation.

Kuznetsov: When a person is detained, the main thing is not to panic and understand that his fate depends on the first measures that will be taken against the detainee. In the first days of detention, by his actions he lays the foundation for the future - release, or imprisonment. The security forces are well aware of all this and therefore they try to work out as much as possible in the first minutes and days of detention, hoping that their victim in a panic, not understanding anything, will behave to please them. The security forces, as a rule, in the first minutes and days of detention, try to limit any contacts with the outside world for the detainee, slip their lawyer on duty, who, with sweet speeches about a possible immediate release, inclines the detainee to do what the security forces want, in fact excluding the chances of release, aggravating the situation . At such moments, it is better for the detainee to remain silent and not testify against himself and his relatives, especially since Article 51 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation allows him to do so.

Alyona: No matter how many times you are detained, it's always like the first time. Circumstances are different, preconditions are different, and the police are different, respectively. But in any case, you need to know your rights. Not to "download", but to know. This will greatly reduce the risks and help later in the implementation of your protection. You can give a lot of recommendations, but each case is individual - and there is a difference if you were detained by a PPS detachment or if you were “bedded” by a rapid response group, and the difference is global. It is worth studying the law "On Police", which clearly spells out the duties and rights of police officers.

Sokolov: First, when they come to your house, you need to look at the documents. They are required to introduce themselves, show identification and a warrant for a search or detention. Everyone deserves a phone call. You can call before you open the door. You need to contact a lawyer. If there is no lawyer, call relatives or acquaintances to send a lawyer. You can, of course, try to say that you will not let the police in until the lawyer arrives, but in this case they can break the door. You can let them in and give the phone to the lawyer to let him know he's coming. Employees may not give a damn about it, but then you can present it in court. If a lawyer is absent, it is best to record the proceedings on a video camera. You need to demand from employees that searches be carried out in your presence. First in one room, then in another, and so on. So that it doesn’t happen that all the employees scattered around the rooms and left with drugs, ammunition or something like that. Witnesses must be present during the search. Either these are "manual" witnesses, or they attract neighbors.

We need to find out who is in charge of the investigation team, who makes the decision. Any violation should be brought to the attention of witnesses. This should appear on the search log. At the end, you can list all violations. It is necessary. Because later it will be possible to refer to it. The next step is interrogation. At this interrogation, if there is no lawyer, then it is better to take Article 51. Because imagine the psychological state of a person when people come to you, get you out of bed at six in the morning, start to scour the rooms - this is a shock.

Even if the lawyer is by appointment, you can work with him. Ask him to fix violations. Consult with him. (At the following stages, it is highly desirable to acquire a lawyer by agreement - see the next paragraph).

    IVS. Do not believe

After being detained, you will most likely be sent to a temporary detention facility, IVS. This is a police facility where you can be held for up to 48 hours without a court order. This is not a pre-trial detention center and not a prison, but only their “dressing room”.

Andrey: Being in a temporary detention center, a citizen understands and feels that life is not so beautiful. The lack of sunlight in the cell, the lack of clean air, and, often, unsanitary conditions knock many people down morally. But we must not forget that perhaps even worse conditions for existence are ahead. Therefore, you should not trust cellmates ... Many cooperate with interrogators, someone works for them. If in a cell where only detainees are kept for the first time, there is a citizen covered in tattoos, telling how easy and simple he lived in the zone, know that this is an employee of those who interrogated you the day before, with a 99 percent guarantee. You may be offered a “duty” lawyer during interrogation or other investigative action. Do not agree! The duty lawyer, as a rule, begins to persuade you to confess to the crime that you are charged with, with the explanation that this way they will give you less, or they will let you go home on bail. As a rule, such a “bearish” service of the lawyer on duty will then cost tears and, most likely, threatens real term. There are also lawyers by appointment who honestly work out their bread and reputation, but there are only a few of them. Therefore, I propose to think carefully and look where and under what to sign.

Alexei: From the first minutes, you need to understand that you find yourself in a part of another world, where operational measures can be carried out against you, using your cellmates, who, as if constantly summoned from the cell by investigators or lawyers. In fact, they constantly go to operas to leak information about you and receive new tasks for your development. From the first step into this other world, the detainee must be a "simpleton" who, entering the cell, will simply say: "Hello everyone." At the same time, it is internally necessary to keep the wolf defense and at any time make decisions in accordance with internal perception. For a moment of weakness, you can pay for decades, and maybe even eternity.

While in the TDF for the first days, you should understand that the investigator depends on your testimony, and you depend on the investigator - use this to inform relatives and relatives that you have been detained. Tell the investigator: yes, I agree to give explanations and testimonies, but inform my relatives and relatives about my detention so that they hire a lawyer for me, after meeting with whom we will actively conduct legal proceedings. Behave as if you are running towards the investigator with leaps and bounds.

When a hired lawyer arrives, through him you will be able to provide relatives and relatives with any information, since your meetings will be confidential, such is the law.

If there is no hired lawyer, do not trust the duty lawyer by appointment, since this is the same investigator, prosecutor and judge all rolled into one.

You will not be kept in the temporary detention center for a long time, and in case of arrest you will go by stage to the pre-trial detention center. This is a new test - you seem to have adapted to the IVS, but here again something new and terrible.

Alyona: What is the ITT... First of all, it is a vacuum of uncertainty, in which even an experienced person begins to draw pictures of the best possible outcome. But, unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way. And even from a small fly, in the absence of awareness about their rights, about the norms of the law and much more, a good elephant can come out.

State attorney. It is free, and therefore often does not care about you. He is not a doctor and did not take the Hippocratic Oath. He does not realistically imagine that a person who has been imprisoned can simply be killed or lowered. This is not in any article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, but there are hundreds of cases. The lawyer understands that, having interrogated the suspect or the accused and remaining for him “only” a lawyer on duty, all he can count on is a penny from the state. You should not condemn them for following the path of least resistance, offering to write a confession and sue in a special order. He does not do this without the consent of the accused.

Sokolov: Life in a temporary detention center ... These are four bunks, a table, a toilet, fenced with a brick wall, a washbasin, windows. In the TDF, I advise you not to talk to anyone, not to discuss not only your business, but also other aspects of your personal and professional life, parents, relatives. Because it is at this stage that the operatives use the services of "hens". They pump out all the information that is used against you.

You can receive parcels in the TDF. You need to read about this in the rules of the insulator.

SIZO. "Who are you in life?"

If the court makes a decision on arrest, the person from the TDF is moved to the pre-trial detention center. It's almost like a real prison. You can spend many months here, while formally you remain an innocent person - you were simply isolated to make it more convenient to conduct investigative actions.

Andrey: From the temporary detention facility, you can be taken to a pre-trial detention center, that is, to a prison. They have their own rules and regulations, which it is desirable to know for a “newcomer” who has not been in the cell system. What to bring? What is possible? Of course, hygiene items: soap, toothpaste and brush, socks, shorts, T-shirts (preferably plain, black or gray). Cigarettes, tea, coffee (even taking into account the fact that you personally do not smoke), as you can always treat your cellmates, which will give you the opportunity to win over people. You can not have piercing and cutting objects, belts and laces with you. Therefore, choose shoes without lacing. The same applies to trousers, it is better to have a tracksuit - it's more practical.

Do not forget, when you find yourself in a cell in a pre-trial detention center, it is better to be restrained and extremely polite with your cellmates. You should not count on your own strength, there is a different atmosphere and rules of life. Entering the cell, greet the prisoners with the words: “Peace and prosperity in the hut (cell), warmth and health to the prisoners, it was great (it’s not customary to say simply“ great ”, because this can be answered with an indecent saying - ed.), I welcome a decent people." At first glance, these words may seem ridiculous, but they are not. The prison has a life of its own.

There are so-called VIP cells in the prison. There are, for example, in the Yekaterinburg Central. I even had a chance to sit there once. These are cells for two beds. If memory serves, from 411th to 420th. There are plastic windows, everything is clean, the repair is done. Even the food in these cells is much better: they give meat, rich soup. You can't get a job in such a cell for money. The administration looks at the personality of the convict. For example, [former vice-president of the City Without Drugs Foundation] Yevgeny Malenkin sat in one of these. But I didn’t sit there for a long time, I asked for a general one. I need communication, I'm used to being with other prisoners. In addition, my cigarettes were constantly shot by youngsters in neighboring cells, I could not refuse them. And the isolation was pressing. Therefore, he asked for a general.

Do not forget that no one can offer you an action that discredits your name or offends human dignity. Anyone who dares to do this is not a good person, not a “decent prisoner”, and such a person should boldly be told in the face for his action! Otherwise, you will experience many unpleasant moments from life "outside the will." For example, a “first-timer” ends up in prison. If he is asked, say, to clean up for others, then he has the right to refuse. Everyone here lives and cleans up after themselves. They cannot force him. In each cell there is a person who is considered "sane", he resolves various conflict situations. You can always turn to him if they try to treat you unfairly, he is obliged to respond. The use of force is not respected in prison. Even if you want to receive a certain service from the "blue" (offended), you cannot use force against him, you must negotiate with him. Otherwise, they will ask you.

About writing complaints. If you write a complaint regarding your criminal case, no one has the right to interfere with you - neither the convicts nor the administration, this is your personal matter. If you complain about the conditions of detention, then everyone decides for himself. There is a possibility that other prisoners under the control of the administration will try to dissuade you. Like, you write, and then they will arrange a search for us. But everyone decides for himself.

Some talk about "Caucasian" cells, which are used to frighten detainees. Like, we'll put you in jail, and they'll tear you to pieces there. There is definitely no such thing in the Sverdlovsk region. Caucasians are the same people, even, perhaps, more restrained and hospitable, they don't even swear usually. There are no nationalities in prison at all. These boundaries are blurred. Another thing, we have "limitless" cameras. In Yekaterinburg SIZO-1, too. These cells are in the basements. When some commissions arrive, they are once - a stage quickly sent somewhere. Then they return. If you get there, nothing good will happen, of course.

Alexei: Upon arrival at the pre-trial detention center in the “scream room” (the place where they check the data of the arrived prisoners in the pre-trial detention center and where they receive additional information according to which the prisoner will be assigned to one or another category of prisoners), the DPNSI (pre-trial detention center officer) will ask your full name, date of birth, by what article, you are brought as a defendant, until what date the measure of restraint is chosen, and then he will ask the question: “Who in life?” or “What color are you?” If you don’t know what to answer, then don’t get lost, say that “man” (this is not “red”, not “lowered”, not thieves). This is the "golden mean". And you'll figure it out over time. Question: "Who in life?" is set in order to distribute you to the appropriate hut, that is, the cell, in accordance with your answer.

When entering the house, remember that here you are entering someone's house, in which someone lived and lives before you. Here it is necessary to adhere to the rule: "Do not go into someone else's monastery with your charter."

Entering the hut, say: "Hello everyone" or "It was great." Then the “watcher” (the main one in the cell) will call you to talk. From the conversation, he learns what kind of fruit you are. In accordance with his conclusions, an attitude in the hut will be built towards you. You must remember: how you put yourself in the hut, so be it. The attitude of others to your person depends on you. Living conditions in a pre-trial detention center are like in a well-groomed basement for intelligent homeless people, however, in a pre-trial detention center, a bedroom, a toilet and a kitchen are one room.

Alyona: A lot can happen in a pre-trial detention center, or rather, anything - it all depends on what kind of person you are in life, what kind of “baul” you have (that is, financial situation and help from the will). Well, some more nuances. Everything is individual. There is only one principle: if you lived like a human before all the sad events, then after them you will live with dignity.

Sokolov: Complaints should be written about the actions of investigators. Appeal all answers. This will all come in handy in court. Management must be treated with respect. Some employees will provoke you to be rude in order to spin you into new criminal cases. Jailers provoke very professionally - they will crawl under the skin so that a person loses his temper. This is all done on purpose. A person must self-discipline, look both ways. Here, too, there are "hens" who leak information to operational services. Many do it for tea and cigarettes.

    The colony. Red and black

You can end up in a colony both after the temporary detention center and pre-trial detention center, and bypassing these stages. For example, you can be sentenced and taken into custody right in the courtroom.

Andrey: Convicts can get both on a general regime and on a strict regime, it all depends on the severity of the crime. One way or another, but in the Sverdlovsk region there were no camps (IK) that did not fall under the influence of convicts who actively cooperate with the administration. Yes, this is true, the administration, by delegating powers to such convicts, creates arbitrariness, and sometimes lawlessness. A terrible word - lawlessness. Such camps, zones are called "red", and this is associated with blood. In such camps, all movements occur in formation or on the run. Under the singing of songs, sometimes offensive. I personally know firsthand about torture, humiliation and beatings, so I can say with full confidence: lawlessness reigns in the Sverdlovsk region on the part of administration officials and their accomplices represented by convicts.

Once in the quarantine department in the correctional colony, upon arrival in the zone, almost 100% of newly arrived convicts stay there for two weeks. During this time, they undergo a medical examination. For your information, especially cruel activists cooperating with the administration work in quarantine in the "red" zones. After all, it is in quarantine that the initial “breaking” of new arrivals begins. Everything is taken away, even hygiene items. A nightmare begins for those who respect themselves and those around them. As a rule, there are no employees of the administration in quarantine, therefore, all powers are assigned to the “asset”. All illusions disappear in those who fall into such camps. I have heard more than once personally from those who create lawlessness: "They will be afraid, they will not sit down again, they will be obedient." I have been repeatedly judged and I can assure you that those who have gone through this hell become different, and not for the better. Morality breaks down, human values disappear, compassion and empathy die. Only a few, having gone through the nightmares of the camps, become stronger without losing their human form.

The "black" camps are different - everything is based on honesty and decency, insults to the person, or relatives and friends are unacceptable. Scuffle and violence are not welcome. For this - the demand to the fullest extent, after which few people want to transgress human foundations. They will always help in word and deed, they will not remain indifferent to sadness and grief.

It is extremely difficult to remain a human being in a "red" colony, it requires fortitude and endurance. Many are forced to write receipts: "I will cooperate with the administration." Torture and "confessions" are being videotaped everywhere. Activists and the administration warn that in case of disobedience, all video materials will be shown on internal TV.

In many "red" camps there are shops for the manufacture of certain products. The payment is meager, true, but this is an option to avoid torture and bullying.

Alexei: The notions prevailing in society that in the "red" zones the rules of the internal life of prisoners are established by the administration of the correctional colony, and in the "black" - thieves, are erroneous. The whole policy of the internal life of both “red” and “black” colonies is set by the administration, and it all depends on who carries out the administration’s instructions - “active” or thieves (prisoners who openly propagate chutvorov’s ideas). I want to note that in the "black" camps I saw more human, since the thieves, who carry out the instructions of the administration, must still keep the defining image of thieves' piety, so that the bulk of the prisoners respect them.

For example, I came to the "black" colony. Got into quarantine. The thieves organize that the newcomers should be treated normally by the "red" prisoners, who are also called "goats" in jargon. Tea, cigarettes, sweets and other necessary things are allocated from the “common fund” for the period of quarantine (14 days). Let it be very modest, but every day and for everyone. If, God forbid, in quarantine the “goats” in such a camp raised their hand against you, then the thieves should react. Therefore, in such "black" camps, there is less torture and violence on the part of the "goats" against the mass of prisoners. Although, to be honest, all this is present there, but to a lesser extent than in the "red" camps.

So I came to the "red" camp, got into quarantine. Here from the first minutes they start to beat you. "Goats" put pressure on during all 14 days of being in quarantine. Talking with you, the "goats" get information about your financial well-being. They look at your reaction to the concessions they offer, for which you have to pay, they give you a cell phone to call home, while saying that for the call your relatives must put a certain amount of money on the phone or bank card. Naturally, in conditions when you are beaten and humiliated 24 hours a day, a call home is priceless, and you pay ... But from now on you will pay the entire term. You will be milked.

Alyona: One thing can be said about the women's colony: the “baul system”. Buy, sell, trade. Concepts as such exist when it is profitable or when there is nothing to lose, but basically everyone who is friends with common sense tends to leave on parole. After all, there are mothers. And when the narcotic fog subsides, the brains fall into place, then comes the understanding of how little a person needs for happiness: a house, a child, a family. I don't know a single woman who doesn't want to go home. There is nothing for a woman to do in the colony, so you should not go there.

What a colony, such a routine. The difference is in the number of checks - two or three. And the rest - from the detachment in which you live, the type of your activity and the mental state of the colony administration.

Even in the zone you can occupy yourself and diversify your leisure time. Someone reads, someone watches films, someone participates in amateur performances, someone knits, writes, draws. Who is into what. If a person wants to fulfill himself, to express himself, to educate himself - in a good sense of these words (not to be weird and not to shake the regime) - a person will find something to do for leisure and will not grow dull over the years that he is measured by the sentence.

Sokolov: There is a very simple saying "Do not believe, do not be afraid, do not ask." She needs to be guided. Also, listen more, talk less. A person, getting into a colony, usually already internally resigns himself to the fact that he will sit. Shock releases him, he begins to actively communicate. But at first it is better to listen more and try to think, then only speak.

Simple rules for the "first mover" from experienced convicts

Be who you are. In prison, you should not pretend to be someone else, because masks quickly fall off here. And when the masks come off, the consequences can be bad.
Don't close. You should not live on the principle of "me and my bedside table." If a person closes, this is interpreted as if he considers himself superior to others.

Don't be greedy. Today you have tea and cigarettes, and tomorrow you have nothing. No one says that you should give the last, but mutual assistance is always welcome here.
Don't talk about others behind their backs. Here it is called "intrigue". It is forbidden to gossip about the actions and words of other convicts. For "washing the bones" they may ask.

Stay away from the "lowered". There is no escape from reality, in the colonies there is such a caste of people. They sit at separate tables, eating with separate cutlery. They are not allowed to take cigarettes or other items. This is not to be washed off throughout the entire period.

Don't be afraid to ask your elders. There is a special relationship with pioneers. If, out of ignorance, he uses some expression that is considered normal in ordinary life, but not in prison, then everything will be explained to him, taught, no one will immediately make claims. For example, if you want to know something, you should say: “I have an interest in you,” since the phrase “I have a question for you” means a specific claim, a presentation for which the person you are contacting is obliged to answer.

Everything will be fine. The hope of release is something that warms not only the heart of the first prisoner. It is a feeling that unites all prisoners. Remember that even the most dangerous-looking inhabitants of the camp are people just like you. Just accustomed to live by other laws. Your task is to accept these laws and live by them. Maintain your dignity and do not put yourself above others. Then you will be treated with respect.

Any person who finds himself in prison for the first time experiences frank horror. The mixture of adrenaline, fear, anxiety and confusion is simply deafening. After the camera closes behind you, you will have to somehow cope with this situation and start planning your survival. Prison life is hard and dangerous, but if you stick to their code and don't get into trouble, you'll live your term without any problems.

    Steps

    Survival in prison

Get a new instinct for danger. Now you live next to thieves, rapists, murderers and liars. To survive, you must trust your instincts, not ignore them.

      • If you have a strong feeling that something bad is about to happen, don't hesitate, act quickly and find a safe place. Don't try to rationalize everything in this irrational place.
      • Trust your first impression if you feel something strange is going on. In prison, everything seems different from what it really is.
      • If you have a poorly developed sixth sense, now is the time to develop it. Even subtle signs can mean danger to your immediate environment.
    1. Respect other prisoners."Treat people the way you want to be treated." This quote is the golden rule for living in prison. Don't swear, avoid confrontation, and respect personal boundaries.

      • Do not insult the masculinity of another prisoner, otherwise you will be sent to the infirmary, to solitary confinement or to the grave.
      • Don't get in line at the cafeteria or you might get stabbed.
      • Do not approach the cells of other prisoners unless you are called to it. If they did call, then sometimes it is better to refuse.
      • Fight only if you have no other choice. If you refuse to fight when someone treats you disrespectfully, then you will become a "punk" or a coward who will live in even more suffering than before.
      • Never take the personal belongings of other prisoners without permission.
    2. Beware of gangs, drugs and gambling. There is a common myth that in order to receive protection in prison, you must immediately join a gang. But to obtain this protection, you will have to do unthinkable things. In reality, joining a gang, using drugs, and gambling are the three easiest ways to die.

      • Most often, it is gang members who die in prison. They are also most often involved in fights and get stab wounds.
      • If you are caught with drugs, then you will go to solitary confinement, your sentence will be increased or you will be transferred to a more stringent prison.
      • Gambling in prison is a contact sport, especially if you find yourself in debt. Money in prison gives access to various things and necessities. But if you are in debt to someone, expect a visit from your gambling friends.
    3. Stay away from solitary confinement. Although solitary confinement may seem like an attractive idea when you live with the most disgusting people, it is often associated with torture and mental illness.

Endure solitary confinement. Solitary confinement is a cell in which it is almost impossible to move around, no contact with other people, confinement for 23 hours a day with a minimum amount of exercise, which even in the most resistant people can cause various forms mental disorders. If you are sent to this isolated hell, have a plan with you on how not to go crazy.

      • Maintain a daily schedule for your mind. If we didn’t plan our lives in advance, we would hardly have time to do something. Don't change your schedule, even while in solitary confinement. Wake up, have breakfast, go to work, have lunch, come home, have dinner, watch TV or do something and go to bed. Do it all in your head.
      • Break processes down into basic components. This is the perfect mental exercise to help you stay healthy and think logically. If you like football or baseball, imagine trying to explain these sports to an alien who has no idea what they are. Thus, you will have to describe and give an example of each small step.
      • Build things or take them apart. Think about the things you will need to build your house and make a shopping list. Go to the store, buy everything you need and take them to the construction site. After that, imagine that you are building a house.

      physical health

      1. Healthy food. Prison food, which is paid for by taxpayers, cannot be called the pinnacle of culinary art. Moreover, it is tasteless and has a high calorie content.

        • Prison food can be diluted with food from the prison store or canteen, thereby improving your diet.
        • Most convict shops sell foods rich in vitamins and minerals. Try to replace the prison gruel with these products once or twice a week.
        • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
      2. Get regular exercise. Stretching, strength training and aerobic exercise can be done on prison grounds. This will not only make you stronger, but also keep your waistline.

        • With exercise, time will fly by faster.
        • Prison is a very stressful place, and exercise will be more beneficial for stress relief than fighting.
        • Physically fit people are less likely to be bullied by other prisoners, as you will be better prepared to defend yourself.
      3. Keep yourself busy. In prison you will have a lot of free time. Instead of lying in your cell all day, take up a sport, play non-fatal cards, or join a club.

        • Idleness in prison only leads to trouble. Engaging in positive activities will take your mind off the time and the current situation.
        • By participating in stimulating and social activities, you will briefly forget about fear.
        • Play basketball, sip iron, play cards, or join a walking club.
      4. Diseases. Each prison treats prisoners differently, but prison healthcare is always presented in the most cost-effective and cost-effective way. effective way which can be achieved with proper care. Depending on the severity of the disease and the treatment required, most prisons provide inpatient treatment in the prison itself or at the municipal hospital.

        • If you need medical care while in prison, you must submit a written request. Once a request is received, it will be reviewed and prioritized.
        • If necessary, emergency services are also available in the prison.
        • If necessary, the prisoner can receive surgical, prenatal and palliative care.

      How to keep your sanity

      1. Reading. In the library you can read newspapers, magazines and books on current affairs, general topics and education. Reading will allow you to enter a fantasy world and forget about prison.

        • A well-read mind will help you deal with difficult cases in prison.
        • After you gain freedom, you can use the knowledge gained.
      2. Get an education. Most prisons run courses for prisoners who want to get an education. You will have enough time to go to class and learn, and at the same time get an education.

        • Education will better prepare you for the outside world.
        • Every employer wants their employee to have an education, so having a degree or certificate will give you everything you need to get a job.
      3. Deal with depression. Without a doubt, prison is not the most the best place, and because of the need to spend part of your life there, depression can occur. What's more, most prisons are overcrowded, full of boredom, frustration, and sexual predators that turn such an environment into a home for depression. In prison, you may or may not have access to a doctor, psychologist, or antidepressants.

        • If you cannot get professional psychological care, try to find another prisoner who is willing to listen to you. It is very likely that there are other prisoners among you who, like you, suffer from depression.
        • Try to fight your stress through exercise. During exercise, hormones are released that help to cope with stress and depression.
        • Stay away from drugs and alcohol as they will only make your depression worse.
        • Try to eat more fruits and vegetables and reduce your caffeine and sugar intake.
        • Make a few acquaintances so as not to spend all the time alone. It is possible that your prison comrades will be able to cheer you up.
      4. Manage your anger. Prison can make anyone angry. Anger is quite common in prison, because it seems to prisoners that there are much more disappointments than hopes. Therefore, when anger becomes too much, and you lose control of yourself, then serious problems arise.

        • Don't make assumptions. Assumptions in prison can lead to dire consequences. Never try to read a person. Instead, know exactly why someone bumped into you or got ahead of you in line. A mistake can lead to fatal consequences.
        • Do not impose your own rules on other prisoners without their knowledge. This is usually manifested in a phrase that begins with the words: "He should have ...".
        • Every prisoner has personal rights that must be respected. If you violate their imaginary rights, then be prepared to defend yourself.
        • The more you generalize, the angrier you will become. For example, if you constantly complain about being short-changed or never taken seriously, you will likely become angrier.
        • Try not to divide everything into black and white. In prison, you can survive if you understand that there are also shades of gray. Not all people are only bad or only good.

      prison code

      1. Don't trust anyone. This rule applies to everyone, including prisoners, guards and prison staff. Remember, nothing is free in prison.

        • Be suspicious of someone who treats you well. Ask yourself "What is it for them?". Since most prisoners are aware of the “trust no one” rule, it is likely that their attitude towards you has an ulterior motive.
        • You can talk to guards and staff, but be careful what you say, because anything you say, no matter how insignificant you may think, can be used against you.
        • Prison guards will not protect you, and even if they do, you still have to return to your cell, which everyone knows about. Therefore, it is better to keep quiet and not divulge information about another prisoner.
        • The main thing is to trust yourself. After all, you are the only person you can trust in prison.
      2. Hide your emotions. Easier said than done, but try not to show fear, anger, happiness, or pain. Other prisoners can take advantage of this. Simply put, your emotions are your worst enemy, as they reveal your weakness, which both prisoners and guards can take advantage of.

        • Since most of the prisoners are bored, they have plenty of time to use their manipulative skills against you. They will try to provoke your anger and destroy your happiness.
        • It is very important to remember that prison guards and other staff are always right and that they will never be on your side. In other words, treat them well and with respect so they don't mess with you.
        • Do not challenge or intimidate other inmates, guards or prison staff. It doesn't matter if you were right, it is you who will suffer.
      3. Don't stare. It is rude and under other circumstances will not turn out badly for you, which cannot be said if you are in prison. When walking in prison, always look ahead and do not look at others, otherwise you may be misunderstood.

        • Do not look at others, but do not walk around with your eyes on the floor, as you can bump into someone, which may cause new problems.
        • Usually, when one prisoner looks at another prisoner, it means two things: sexual interest and hostility. As you can already understand, none of this will end well in prison.
      4. Don't knock. If you enjoy being downright miserable, then tell the guard about another inmate's transgressions. This will almost certainly result in you being beaten half to death. If you see or hear something, leave and don't say anything.

        • If the guards begin to interrogate you about what happened, come up with an excuse and never answer their questions.
        • Be careful where and how you talk to the guards. If you talk to them in a secret or too friendly way, it will almost certainly be mistaken for snitching. In this case, it is better not to speak to the prison staff at all.
        • Snitches are hated not only by prisoners, but also by the guards themselves. If you somehow upset the guard, your name will be associated with snitching, whether it's true or not.
      5. Treat guards with respect. Guards and other prison staff should not be treated otherwise than with respect and reverence. They control everything and they have the final say. If you find yourself on bad terms with a guard, then he can become your worst enemy.

Nowadays, even an innocent person can become a prisoner. It is for this reason that absolutely everyone should know how to behave in prison. Life in the zone is a serious test that not everyone can do. As a rule, former prisoners have a lot of diseases, including mental ones. In our article, you can find out how to survive in the zone.

The period of settlement in the cell. Behavioral Features

It is believed that the most difficult test for a prisoner is getting to know the convicts. In the zone, this stage is called "registration". In our article, you can find out not only how to survive in prison, but also how to get to know the convicts correctly so that the term does not turn into a series of serious trials.

It is important to know how to behave when meeting convicts. In each prison, "registration" is completely different. As a rule, a beginner is asked questions with a subtext. It is for this reason that it is necessary to be careful and not say anything superfluous. In no case do not behave aggressively towards other convicts, even if you are an athlete and are confident in your abilities. This is not accidental, because in prison everyone lives "according to the rules", and any rash word in the direction of the local authority can turn into a series of trials for you.

When entering the chamber, do not rush, walk at a slow and measured pace. It is essential to meet and greet everyone. It is worth paying attention to the fact that at the first meeting with convicts, in no case should you extend your hand for a handshake. This is not accidental, because in prisons there are such categories of citizens who are not greeted like that.

The recommendations that are described in our article will allow you to figure out how to survive in prison. Thanks to them, if you are convicted, you will be able to quickly adapt to the zone and preserve your physical and mental health as much as possible.

    Features of communication in prison

Few people know, but in prison there are their own between convicts. If a beginner does not comply with them, then he risks falling into the caste of socially unadapted. As a rule, criminal authorities do not perceive such convicts and daily humiliate them. First of all, you need to remember a few features.

In no case do not say thank you and offended on the territory of the prison. It is also forbidden to use it not by chance, because you can accidentally offend a person respected in prison and thus lower your authority. It is also worth noting that in the zone all convicts use slang. It is for this reason that at first it will be quite difficult for a newcomer to understand what his cellmates are talking about.

If you, through your own or someone else's fault, got into the zone, then we strongly recommend that you follow the prison rules. Thanks to this, you can earn credibility.

    Prison tattoos

It is no secret that convicts often get tattoos on their bodies. Few people know, but each drawing has a separate meaning. Prison tattoos allow you to learn more about the views on the life of a particular convict. You can find their detailed decoding in our article.

It is not uncommon for prisoners to have a tattoo of five dots on their arm. As a rule, it is stuffed at the base of the thumb. Such a tattoo is a kind of symbol that indicates that a person was in prison.

The most popular prison tattoos are epaulettes. As a rule, such a pattern is located on the shoulders. It can symbolize that its owner completely denies any power. Often such convicts do not obey the inspectors for supervision and arrange a riot.

On the territory of the prison, you can meet prisoners with a rather peculiar tattoo, namely a dot above the eyebrow.
